On United Retail, Wholesale & Department Store Employees of America stationery, Gertrude Gompers writes to Raymond S. Hofses, editor of the Reading Labor Advocate [official organ of Federated Trades Council and Affiliated Unions, Local Berks County Socialist Party] at the Peoples Printing Co., Reading, Pa.: 29 Feb., 15 June, and 5 Sept. 1944, requesting the date of the first issue of his paper and anything else of interest he may have pertaining to it for her survey of labor papers. With pencil annotations of the dates he answered her letters.
